Four live sessions for CFOs and finance leaders who are ready to use Claude on real work.
Most finance leaders get access to Claude and then nothing changes. People experiment for a week, hit a wall, and go back to doing things the old way. This program fixes that, in four sessions, built around the finance workflows you actually run.
Hands-on. Cohort-based. Finance-specific.
Each session is 60 minutes, every Tuesday from July 14 to August 4. We move from fundamentals to project organization to tool integrations to full-scale workflow automation — hands-on throughout.
You leave session four able to automate recurring finance processes end to end.

Detailed Agenda:
Session 1 — July 14
How Claude Works
The foundation: interface, prompting, validation, and setup.
60 minutes · Tuesday, July 14 · 9:00 am PT / 11:00 am CT / 12:00 pm ET
Claude Instances: An Overview
A quick orientation to the Claude ecosystem — Chat, Cowork, and add-ins — what each one does, how they relate, and which one to reach for depending on the task.
Prompting Fundamentals
The structure behind prompts that return precise, usable results: context, role, format, and constraints. Finance-specific examples throughout. Each participant builds a personal prompt library starter during the session.
Output Types
How to get formatted Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint files, and interactive artifacts directly from a conversation. When each format makes sense for finance work.
Validating Outputs and Data Safety
Claude is not always right. We build the output validation habit into every exercise. We also cover data safety for finance teams: what belongs in Claude, what does not, and how to draw boundaries your whole team can follow.
Custom Instructions
Pre-loading Claude with context about how you work: preferred formats, terminology, review standards. We configure a custom instruction set together during the session.
You Leave With
A prompt library starter · Custom instructions configured · An output validation checklist
Session 2 — July 21
Projects, Instructions, and Skills
How to organize your work and build systems that compound.
60 minutes · Tuesday, July 21 · 9:00 am PT / 11:00 am CT / 12:00 pm ET
Session 1 was a single conversation. Session 2 is about how to structure your work so Claude gets more useful over time, not less.
Chat vs. Projects vs. Cowork
The practical differences between Claude Chat, Projects, and Cowork — what each is designed for and how to decide which one a task belongs in.
Project Instructions
How to use project instructions to pre-load context that applies across multiple conversations: your team's terminology, reporting formats, recurring task types. We build one together using a finance-specific example.
Organizing Work in Projects
How to structure a Claude Project so your whole team can use it — not just you. What to put in, what to leave out, and how to keep it maintainable.
Skills: What They Are and How They Work
Skills are reusable, pre-configured workflows you can deploy across conversations and tools. We cover how they work, how to evaluate an existing skill, and how to think about building one for a recurring finance task.
Skills vs. Project Instructions: What Goes Where
The practical decision framework: when a skill is the right container, when project instructions are enough, and what happens when you mix them up.
You Leave With
A configured Project with working project instructions · A clear framework for when to build a skill
Session 3 — July 28
Claude in Your Tools
Deploying Claude inside the tools your team already uses.
60 minutes · Tuesday, July 28 · 9:00 am PT / 11:00 am CT / 12:00 pm ET
Sessions 1 and 2 built your foundation and your systems. Session 3 moves Claude into the tools your team works in every day — and puts the skills you built in session 2 to work inside them.
Claude in Excel
Formula generation, data cleanup, variance analysis, and commentary drafting without leaving the spreadsheet. We work through a budget-vs-actual schedule using a finance-specific skill.
Claude in Word and PowerPoint
Drafting and structuring financial documents in Word. Building slide narratives from financial data in PowerPoint. The focus is efficiency: from raw numbers to board-ready language quickly.
Claude in Chrome
Using Claude across any web-based tool without switching tabs. Summarizing documents, drafting responses, researching on the fly.
Cowork: Setup and Live Use
How Cowork differs from Claude Chat, what it can do with local files and folders, and where it fits into a finance workflow. We set it up live and run one exercise together.
Claude Teams Settings
For organizations on Teams or Enterprise: managing access, sharing projects, and setting guardrails across the team.
You Leave With
Claude active in at least one tool you use daily · A skill running inside an add-in · A working Cowork setup
Session 4 — August 4
Skills, MCP, and Plugins
Automating full-scale finance workflows.
60 minutes · Tuesday, August 4 · 9:00 am PT / 11:00 am CT / 12:00 pm ET
Sessions 1 through 3 built personal productivity and team infrastructure. Session 4 is where you automate full recurring finance workflows — report prep, exception flagging, recurring summaries — running with minimal manual input.
Skills: Going Deeper
Building a skill from scratch for a recurring finance task. What makes a good skill, how to test it, and how to share it across a team. We build one together during the session.
MCP Connections
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how Claude connects to external systems — your ERP, data sources, reporting tools. We cover what is actually possible, enable a connection live, and work through one example as a group.
Scheduled Tasks and Agentic Workflows
Claude can run tasks on a schedule and handle multi-step workflows with minimal input. What this looks like in practice for finance: automated report prep, exception flagging, recurring summaries. A live demo with an honest discussion of where the guardrails need to be.
Plugins: What They Are and How to Build One
Plugins bundle skills, MCP connections, and instructions into a deployable package your whole team can use. We cover the structure, walk through a finance-specific example, and participants leave with the knowledge to build one for their own team.
You Leave With
A skill built from scratch · A working MCP connection · A clear path to building your first finance plugin
